Latin American Regional Rounds

The 2017 Latin American Regional Rounds will be held from Tuesday, 18 April 2017 to Thursday, 20 April 2017 in Bogota, Colombia. Teams compete in 4 preliminary rounds in a round-robin format before advancing to the Regional Finals. The Regional Champions will then advance to the International Finals, scheduled for Thursday, 29 June 2017 to Friday, 30 June 2017 in Pretoria, South Africa.

In order to participate, all you need is 2 to 4 students that want to expand their knowledge in space law and gain valuable experience in international mooting. While knowledge of space law may be an asset, we have found that teams without prior training and experience in space law or even lacking in coaches have been very competitive in space law moot court competitions.

The language used in the Latin American Regional Rounds is Spanish. At the International Finals, the team(s) advancing from Latin America may choose to argue in English or Spanish - though an interpreter must be provided by the team(s) if they wish to make oral arguments in Spanish.
