Prof Dr Ricky J Lee has been the Principal Administrator of the IASLA Space Law Moot since its inception in October 2010. He brings to the competition over 18 years of experience in international mooting competitions, as a competitor, faculty advisor, judge, and organiser.
Ricky is a practising lawyer specialising in commercial law and international law. He is an adjunct professor of law at a number of universities and has also taught a variety of law subjects at a number of universities over the years, including commercial law, international law, and air and space law.
Ricky undertook his undergraduate studies in international studies, science, and law at the University of Adelaide, followed by a LL.M. in International Law from the Australian National University, Canberra. His first Ph.D. thesis was on the subject of the law and regulation of the mining of Near Earth Asteroids.
Ricky has published 2 books and over 50 refereed journal articles as well as having presented over 70 papers at various conferences on various subjects of space law, commercial law, constitutional law, and international law.
Ricky resides in Sydney, Australia.
